Bless is a duet recording with Philadelphia’s Grant Calvin Weston. Weston, an alumni of Ornette Coleman, James Blood Ulmer, Marc Ribot and Vernon Reid, among others recorded his drum tracks in his home studio and sent them to me to do whatever I liked.

Bless is a record of electric lap steel and drum music that lies in a space between church music, spirituals, blues, jazz and something beyond.

I’m grateful for the ongoing musical partnership Calvin and I have. It’s always a treat to make music with him.
