Alan Cook is a wonderful drummer, percussionist, artist and educator. He has a very expressionistic voice on the drums and it's been a pleasure making this music with him.

I first met Alan when he came up to play with the Crepescule Trio at Luna's Cafe in Sacramento. Listening to him then I remember talking to another friend at that show and saying "this guy is legit." Upon further digging I discovered Alan had been a mainstay in the Los Angeles creative music scene for years. He'd played with Dave Holland, Bobby Bradford, Vinny Golia and many others. I've seen him play throughout the West Coast in the past 10 years, and am always drawn to how he paints on the drums.

Alan and I have played with one another several times since we met. Most recently in Portland with bassist Andrew Jones, and other times with Steuart Liebig in Los Angeles. Alan, now an Oregon resident is spending his time between the Portland and Seattle creative music scenes.

The music presented here are improvisations for guitars and percussion. We touch on blues and world music. Thank you for listening.
