About Max Johnson:

Max Johnson is a bassist, composer and bandleader based in New York City. Johnson has performed with renowned musicians Anthony Braxton, Muhal Richard Abrams, John Zorn, and Candido Camero. He is an active bandleader with 6 records to his name, which have been reviewed in the New York Times, JazzTimes, NYC Jazz Record, and other publications. Johnson was voted Best Newcomer Musician in the 2012 El Intruso International Critic’s Poll, in addition to No.2 Bassist of the Year and No. 5 Musician of the Year in 2014.
