25 years ago I saw Kai Kln for the first time at the Crest Theater. I was a 16 year old who didn't know how much I didn't know, but seeing that band play that venue I knew that was important. It was the thing that hits you at the right moment. Something that makes everything line up. Something that shows you a path.

My future wife was at that show too by herself, and this was the first time she and I hung out for any length of time. I was in love with playing music and infatuated with her.

Both of those things are still true today.

Neil Franklin was pounding the drums that night. And he and I have become friends since then.

May we never forget who we wanted to be.
